So yes, a warm hello to all who venture into my LJ.  If you want to know more about me, please check out my user info.  I love comments and friends requests, and getting to know others in this lovely LJ community.  I do try to halfway keep up with my friends page when life permits.  Oh, and I don't really discriminate against friends requests, but if you are one of those people with a blank profile go ahead and tell me a little about yourself so I can know who you are. Feel free to leave a comment here and tell me:

- What interests we have in common (I'm assuming something JE related)
- You're favorite JE band/actor/artist, ect
- A little about yourself

Happy Birthday Toma-kun~~

I wish I could do something a bit more substantial
to celebrate the birthday of my ichiban... But alas.
I have swine flu. And I'm dropping out of fandom.

Not that you haven't noticed... but I'm totally hiatusing.
And I'm out of the fandom loop.  I might be back this summer.

It's just that college is way too amazing to not enjoy every minute of it.

Minna-san~  I'm heading back to college =o
It's currently almost 4am  x___x

I'm taking a short break from all night "back to college"
packing while I wait for my caffeine fix to kick in.  I tried a
five hour energy for the first time.  But I don't think its working.
Instead, I can barely think straight and I have a headache.
Such a disappointment.  I was hoping to find something
I could use again for late night studying during the semester.

But anywho's~  I had meant to get to know my flist better this
summer but instead I just got lazier and lazier with fandom.
Maybe with a school routine I'll get back into it like I was before
summer started.  We will see.

Regardless, wish me luck in my second year.

Aaaah~  It's almost 3 IN THE MORNING and I have work tomorrow.  Yikes.
What have I been doing?  Looking through AKAME picspams...
and I'm not really a KAT-TUN fan much less an AKAME fan.

But I remember seeing this adorable picture of Jin and Kame--
where Kame is wearing this fuzzy sweater and has fallen
asleep on top of Jin who is grinning at the camera.
Actually, I can't really remember much of what it looks like, but that
was the impression that it left.   I wanted to show it to a friend, but
alas, I didn't save it to my hard drive. So I figured any good AKAME
picspam would have that picture-- but no. AKAME fangirls have failed me, ha ha.

But anyways-- I'M DONE WITH MICROECONOMICS FOREVER!!
And the best part is that I'm pretty sure I'm getting an "A"  =D
Unless something crazy happens
o___o
So only a few more weeks until real classes start~

I didn't post on Shige's birthday  =o

But I do wish him a happy birthday all the same~
I was going to draw something... but alas. I ran out of time.
And once I get all my current art commissions done I
want to send out my computer to get tuned up a bit.
I feel like it's on the verge of dying on me~

But when it comes back I might try to do something.
I've been experimenting with animation in my
art recently.  Maybe I'll do a Kuchizukewo~ chibi.

And I sorry Shige... but I'm totally distracted by Miura Haruma
at the current moment   >w<   I'll catch up with NEWS eventually.
RL is also getting busy.  I have an exam on Tuesday I haven't studied
for-- and which I definitely need to study for. But how can one
really buckle down and study during the summer? Ick~~

Wheee~  so I've returned from a relatively short vacation.

But I realized that backreading my communities and flist probably won't get accomplished as in this short period of time there have been at least three birthdays:  Massu, Jin, and Gackt.   I actually forgot about Jin, but it doesn't really bother me as I don't particularly care for him anyways =P   But I can finally get back online and wish Massu I belated bday c:

And look it!   I commissioned artwork from an artist on GaiaOnline to do NEWS fanart!  And it's all finished so I have to share:

And make sure you click to see the full version as this small preview doesn't do it justice at all!  Also, the artist has a website that will be up and running soon if any of you guys want to book mark it and check back later.  The website is www.rory-ann.com

Minna-san~  keep me accountable to this.

I'm going to try to post and keep up with my Flist more.
Because I'd really like to get to know people on here
and not just lurk in communities and such.  Actually,
I haven't even been doing much of that recently.

I did watch this adorable episode of Oshareism with Toma as guest.
He talks about Shun, MatsuJun, and Yamapi. FTW.
Thank you TFS for being amazing and reminding me why
Toma will always be my ichiban~

Also, I realize my flist is probably full of JE fans... but
does any else follow Miura Haruma at all?  I've watched
a lot of his stuff recently and he seems like a neat actor.
I didn't really notice him until after watching Bloody Monday.
Today I youtubed some clips of him... he seemed really
sweet c:  And not to mention incredibly attractive.
But what in the world am I doing? I don't need another
thing to get distracted by right now...

Oh, but one last ps before I stop--
On GaiaOnline, I commissioned an artist with a really
cute pixel chibi style to draw NEWS fanart~  With
her permission I'll definitely show it to you guys when
it's done.  It will be epic so I'm looking forward to it c:

Jyaaan~  Hello LJ...  I can't say that I'm "back" yet.
Summer has turned me into a melancholic, boring bah-humbug.
I sleep, I go to work, I watch some jdramas while working on art commissions, and repeat.

And barely even keep up with news_jpop which I used to check addictively~
Maybe my obsession is dropping down to a normal level? That would be a good thing, yes?

Anywho's-- sorry for the rambling as that's not really important.  But look! A spark of productivity~

Yes, even though I barely keep up with my ichiban as I should-- I'm still trying to fanart all his drama characters.

Ho my goodness.  Three more days left until the end guys. I'm so close~  keep me in your prayers.

And I'm not really suppose to be on LJ until I'm done, but I couldn't resist.  And its almost 2am and even though I'll be waking up for church I'm not tired now so I feel like procrastinating.  And I just watched the third episode of Majo Saiban  (I'm really liking this series, ps <3)  Actually, I watched it a couple days ago, but I just commented on an Flist entry about it so I felt like writing my own.

A point made in the entry was regarding the lay judge system.   I'm American and a Law & Order addict so I had never given a second thought to the jury system before.  But when you think about... a person is being judged by a handful of the peers-- people who have no experience or training in the law whatsoever.  And the lawyers aren't there to instruct them in the law-- they're there to be as persuasive as possible.  So in the end, the person who "wins" my not necessarily be the one representing the innocent client-- but the one who is most persuasive.  How can a handful of average citizens really be competent to judge their peers?  Especially on such significant issues where life and murder is concerned?

When I was a senior in high school I took part in a mock trial.  My AP Government class went to the Law School in town and served as jurors.  For their final exam, the law students were divided into the prosecution and the defense and they had "actors" for the witnesses and defendant.  A script of the whole story was made beforehand and the lawyers could choose how they wanted to piece their case together-- which points they wanted to emphasize and which witnesses they wanted to question.  Afterwards we were left to discuss the person's innocence.  And while this didn't exactly model real life-- I saw how easy it was for me to manipulate everyone to agree with me.  Obviously it was partly because we weren't allowed to be "hung" and some wanted to be done as soon as possible.  But others did disaggree strongly-- and I finally convinved them using arguments that probably weren't so proper-- something the lawyer wouldn't have been able to say without objection.  So when you think about it, a lawyer only needs to convince one individual on the jury to have a strong chance at "winning".  And in this mock trial, we found the guy guilty.  Not because he actually was (since it wasn't in the script that he was actually guilty or innocent) but because the prosecution was better (eloquently and rationally) than the defense (who didn't do they great of job obviously).  But is this okay?  Should someone's future really be left up to a handful of amateurs and two professionals battling to persuade them?

First

Hello to the new people on my flist =D  I picked up a few from the NEWS thread at Gaia Online forum, and then a few more from my last fanart post.  I want to have some sort of disclaimer that I usually try pretty hard to comment on you entries-- but I'm probably going to be in a hiatus for the entire month of may.  So in June, when I start commenting on your entries, hopefully you'll remember me and not be weirded out.

Second

The reason for my hiatus you ask? Check out my killer last few weeks starting next week:

May 6th
- Biology Laboratory Final Exam
8th - Biology 3rd Semester Test
8th - English Research Paper due
12th - Analytical Chemistry Laboratory Final Exam
14th - Analytical Chemistry 4th Semester Test
14th - Survey of New Testament Final Exam
14th - Reading log of the entire New Testament completed (27 books)
15th - Written Composition II Final Exam
18th - Biology Final Exam
19th - Analytical Chemistry Final Exam
x__x
I'm totally dead.  And since I've had a raging spring fever since spring break-- I'm finding it hard to summon the motivation necessary for getting anything productive done.

Third

I really, really love the new Koi no ABO single.  I've been listening to it a lot.  I don't really like SHARE as much as I thought I would, but I'm listening to OPEN YOUR EYES over and over and over again.  I'm also still listening to Glorious a lot after discovering it~  I enjoy singing along to it in the shower.  My top 3 shower karaoke songs are: Colorful, Glorious, and Chirarizumu.

Fourth
Happy Birthday Kei-chan!  I'm sorry I'm ripping you off of a proper birthday post.  But at least you are getting recognition in a post on your actual birthday, ne?  It's better than Yamapi managed.  And even more than I did for my own "JE entry" birthday / anniversary xD   But I love you to death~ Please continue being the Koyamamama of NEWS!

So... I totally didn't post anything for Yamapi's birthday this year.
But we can pretend that this is like a belated recognition, ne?

Actually, It was for my room mate's birthday. She specifically
requested a chibi of Yamapi wearing the poofy black jacket
from the Pacific Concert Documentary.

I kind of fail at perspective... but he's suppose to be doing the "bang" gesture from Kurosagi

Enjoy

Meh. So I started typing but the post became way too RL-ish. So I'll save that for my other blog. I was actually prompted to post due to procrastination... and this:

82 wordsTypingtest

Ooh... yay. I got this off of[info]violca's blog after seeing it pop up in my flist a while ago. So intense was my desire for procrastination that I backtracked through my whole flist to find the post to get the link xD

On a different note... I've been trying to pre-order the new NEWS single (Limited Edition) off of CDJAPAN for a few days now, but it keeps being listed as "out of print".  And then the preordering button will be available, but before I can get my order in it'll go back to being listed as "out of print". Ack.  What is up with that?

Oh my goodness... for the last two weeks I was wondering if I was actually going to make it.  I had so much work on top of midterms that it about overwhelmed me.  Its quite convenient I have a whole week to recover now.

On top of that, there's also the good news of NEWS' new single~  yay~ so excited.  Although I hope they don't start doing too many promotions before Easter-- as Lent is already hard enough.  I've only broken it once... despite many temptations x___x  Gah... I think I was a bit of an overachiever this year.  I'd have to say that Shige's recent trip to Bangladesh was especially tempting.  I was able to watch the whole thing streaming-- and the pictures of him with the kids and the pictures he took of the kids just made me melt. *__*   I wanted to cap a HQ download and maybe base a layout header on it. I've been searching everywhere for a new LJ layout anyways.  The typo in my banner is really starting to annoy me, I've just been too busy to fix it.  So if I accomplish one thing over spring break, that would be nice xD  Otherwise I hope to spend the majority of my time seeing highschool friends and such~

09 March 2009 @ 12:17 am
I'm posting simply because I haven't posted in a while.  It's also past midnight and I'm procrastinating going to sleep, which doesn't quite make a lot of since considering I've only slept for 40% of the time I normally spend sleeping on the weekends.  RL and College stuff has been killing me.  For example, since Friday I have written a combined total of over twenty pages double spaces for various essays/papers due this week. And I'm still not finished.

What's more, I think I'm having NEWS withdrawal~
For Lent, I gave up all desserts (with the exception of Girl Scout cookies since I knew my mom was mailing me some) and all downloads of any videos other than currently airing jdrama episodes.

And I will say that I was actually surprised that JE downloads are so much more tempting than chocolate and sweets.  And I definitely didn't realize how much I download on a regular basis.

Yikes.

And for anyone who feels like commenting, please tell me about yourself too! Such as:

Oh guys...  school is SO HARD
Obviously, when you squish a 16 week Chemistry class into a 4 week class it's not going to be easy... but I may have bitten off more than I can chew here this month.  But seeing how I didn't really have a choice in the matter, its not like I could have avoided it.  I'm literally doing Chemistry all day long.  I have about two hours of lecture, three hours of lab, and a bajillion hours of homework each night.

It's really cramping my social life, my fandom, and my sanity--- and its only the second day!  It's a shame too, because I was looking forward to catching up on Ryuusei no Kizuna (sp?) while waiting for my winter jdramas to start.  I have decided, however, that I will make time to watch 24 no matter what.  I've waited over a year for this next season and its the last American tv drama that I faithfully follow.

I wish I could write some really heartfelt message about appreciating 2008 and looking forward to 2009 but the latest pair of Tomapi nikki entries has left me pleasantly brain dead.  Toma's entry was especially touching.  I'm now reminded why he is by far and forever will be my favorite JE artist.

But, returning to the topic at hand, 2008 is probably the year that I have changed the most.  Below are some of my highlights for 2008 and goals for 2009.

2008 Highlights
✖ -    Deciding on a course of study (Chemistry > Pharmacy School)
✖ -    Discovering JE via Toma as Nakatsu in Hana Kimi
✖ -    Joining Tomalicious, Learning more about Toma, and being introduced to the world of fansubbers
✖ -    The beginning of my self-taught crash course in Japanese
✖ -    Hosting a Japanese exchange student
✖ -    Realizing I choose the perfect University to attend
✖ -    Having the best room mates anyone could ask for
✖ -    Entering the NEWS fandom along with my room mate
✖ -    Finding a new Church with a dynamic pastor and worship service
✖ -    Planning a Japan trip with two of my room mates next January
✖ -    Squeaking out a 4.0 GPA for my first semester after much hard work and stress
✖ -    Finally getting to see my highschool friends again and appreciating them all the more

2009 Goals
✖ -    Be a better Christian, friend, sister, daughter, person
✖ -    Study hard and do the best I possibly can in each class
✖ -    Exercise more, eat healthier
✖ -    Find a job
✖ -    Learn about subbing, possibly enough to join a team
✖ -    Continue studying Japanese

So I usually pick a drama or two to follow each season. This season, the only one I'm following is Ryuusei no Kizuna, but I admit that I'm several episodes behind. The story didn't quite grab me as I hoped it would, but I'll still finish it because I like Nino's acting and Ryo isn't too bad to look at. But I am super excited about this upcoming season~

[info]voice_drama

I have to admit that VOICE is the drama that I am most excited about. Toma is an obvious factor, but I love forensic or medical stuff. Anything from CSI to HOUSE-- if it falls somewhere in between or close to, then I will be happy. My only concern is that the plot/storyline may suffer the same fate as Code Blue. With so many characters, I'm worried that they won't be given time to develop and I fear the plot itself may become redundant. But I'll hope for the best~

So... I figure that I'll try this one out solely for Massu's sake.  After recently getting into NEWS, I'm curious to see him acting.  And even though I'm not really a KAT-TUN fan, I'm curious about Nakamaru too. (That's his name right?... My memory can be unreliable).  So yes.... although I'm not the biggest fan of the new hairstyles, I'm willing to give this drama a shot too.

So yes... I figured I may start Kame's and Ohno's drama as well.  My original filter for jdramas was only to watch those with actors I recognized-- which pretty much means Johnnys' dramas.  Although this season, I doubt I'll keep up with four separate shows so even if I start all four, I doubt I'll finish.  Though I heat Ohno's role is suppose to be comedic... is this true? If so I'll be curious to see if he can pull it off.  I though his acting in Maou was fantastic, but comedy is quite different than that.  We will see though....
